A man who spiked treats with sedative and provided them to children at a youth camp in the area has confessed to sexual crimes against two young males aged nine and 10.
The defendant was arrested after eight minors and an older person became sick at the location in July.
The 76-year-old, from the Nottinghamshire area, admitted guilt to a total of 17 charges when he stood at the judicial center on the end of the week.
Nevertheless, he refused to admit a single sexual charge he was accused of, which was against a nine-year-old child.
Ruben was held in detention prior to a additional proceeding on November 28th.
'Sweet game'
The prosecutor, handling the case, described the defendant's actions to the judicial body.
She stated his those affected were under-privileged children who were attending a youth camp which he ran.
The man played a "treat game" with the minors, the prosecutor said, in which he would go into the boys' rooms when they were settling down and request they to eat sweets "rapidly".
She informed the proceedings the defendant had engaged in this activity with the boys "for many years", and minors had previously become sick the following morning.
She explained Ruben had been able to explain this for many years as the children being "overstimulated by activities", until his stepchild had concerns in summer 2025.
The legal representative continued: "This year his stepchild had worries about the situation, for good reason.
"They chose" to investigate in the man's possessions."
The legal counsel explained objects including baby oil, petroleum jelly and medical needles were discovered, and his stepson alerted the authorities about his worries.
She explained the man went on to engage in the "candy game" with six youngsters that night - Saturday 26 July - and they were everyone unwell the subsequent day.
"Authorities" had not gone out by that point," she added.
The oversight body, the investigative body, previously told that it was investigating the police response of the events.
Mrs Prior stated the minors were unable to walk properly due to their condition, so the family member contacted the police once more.
She said the defendant then played the "sweet game" in a space of five youngsters.
